The 122,507-square-foot building — a $100 million project counting construction and equipment costs — will open in 2018 with eight new operating rooms, 18 inpatient rooms and shelled-in space for the future addition of 17 inpatient beds to accommodate growth. The new facility will be connected to KU Hospital’s existing Indian Creek surgical building. It represents KU Hospital’s first location with inpatient beds outside of it main 780-bed campus in Kansas City, Kansas.
