KC Irrigation was started in 2010 in the low point of the economic recession. During this period KC Irrigation learned the best and most efficient ways to operate as a company. Through hard work, dedication and customer satisfaction, KC Irrigation survived and has grown to be one of the largest and most respected irrigation companies in the Kansas City area. Our projects range from small additions to very large commercial installations.

We are a full-service irrigation company which includes servicing your existing system with Spring start-ups, repairs and winterizations as necessary.

Meet Our Senior Staff

Greg JonesPresident

A graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Golf Course Management, Greg spent nearly 12 years on the Golf Course as an Assistant or Golf Course Superintendent. That experience prepared him to start KC Irrigation Specialists in 2010. Since starting KC Irrigation, Greg has received the top certifications from the Irrigation Association for Certified Irrigation Contractor and Certified Irrigation Designer.

Greg was born and raised in the Kansas City area, and loves spending time with his wife and 2 kids in Leawood. His main drive is to make KC Irrigation a better company every day.

Jeff PankewichGeneral Manager

Living in Kansas City since he graduated from K-State in 2003, Jeff began his career in irrigation while a student in Manhattan and has followed his passion ever since. He served as the Irrigation Technician at Shadow Glen Golf Club in Olathe for four years before starting his own lawn and landscape service company. In 2013, Jeff joined KC Irrigation as a Service Technician. In his current role as General Manager, he leads the construction staff overseeing all new installations and large projects. Some of his proudest moments are the completion of the Burns and McDonnell World Headquarters in KCMO, and installing a new irrigation system on the field of Arrowhead Stadium in 2016.

Jeff lives in Stilwell, Kansas with his wife and 2 kids. In his spare time, he enjoys renovating his house with his wife, coaching his son in baseball, playing golf, fishing, and watching the Royals, Chiefs, and Wildcats.

Eric BondService Manager

After graduating from Kansas State University in 2004 with his degree in Golf Course Management, Eric spent the next 10 years working in the golf industry before joining KC Irrigation in early 2014. Since then, he has become a Certified Landscape Irrigation Auditor and enjoys the challenges that his position as Service Manager presents. He pushes himself daily to provide the best customer service he can to KC Irrigation’s customers all over the Metro area.

Eric lives in Raytown, Missouri, with his wife, and son.

JP PhillipsEstimator

JP has an extensive background in Marketing and Technology. He has helped transition that into KC Irrigation’s daily activities as well as becoming well versed in Project Management. He executes that roll by helping organize and communicate between our clients and vendors and relays information to our installation teams. As well, JP helps successfully manage the time, cost and quality of each project.

When JP is not wearing his KC Irrigation hat, he can be found spending time with his wife and 2 kids in the Leawood area or throwing a round of disc golf somewhere within 2 hours of the Kansas City area.

Equipment / Procurement Manager

Bo’s responsibility includes maintaining all fleet vehicles, machines and equipment – from diagnostics and mechanics to welding and fabrication. He also manages irrigation materials levels in the warehouse ensuring all projects are correctly stocked and ready to go even in the busiest weeks.

Bo’s professional experience includes 13 years as a tradesman at Ford Motor Company, working on the assembly line and eventually getting into skill trades. He also worked in the irrigation field for 8 years – doing everything from installation to crew supervision.

Bo owns a professional arm wrestling/strength gym in Eudora, Kansas, where he trains and coaches one of the largest professional arm wrestling teams in the United States. He is a 30+ year veteran in the sport and has earned many state and national titles – including a world championship belt in 2015.

In his spare time Bo loves to spend time with his wife, son and step-kids out on his family land – fishing, camping and riding motorcycles he has restored.

Angie SotoAdministrative Assistant

Angie Soto joined our team September 2020, bringing 24 years of experience in administration. She takes pride in her work and is dedicated to making every customer’s experience the absolute best. Angie has been working in the construction industry the last 14 years. Prior to that she was an Office Manager at a production facility. Angie was born and raised in Kansas City, KS where she resides with her husband and 3 kids. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hanging out with family and watching her favorite sports teams, especially the ones her kiddos are involved in.
